After Overheating

Depending on how hot everything got, it is common for the un cooled exhaust gas to burn the hoses inside the boat.
	In the case of through the drive exhaust there are check valves in the pipe that goes down to the drive. These are usually toast. The shift cable runs next to this pipe and will sometimes be melted.
Again, depending on the amount of heat it is possible to melt the water pump in an Alpha drive and ruin the seals in the upper gear housing.
	To avoid problems down the road, keep an eye out for these items.
